Contractors converted abandoned stone quarries and a degraded flood basin along Beijing’s Yongding River into the 54-hole Yintai Hongye Golf Club. Under architect Rick Robbins, the Yinhong #6 course was redesigned to create a destination layout that meets China’s strict environmental regulations while integrating reshaped bunkers, greens and nearby wetlands. Using Profile® Flexterra® High Performance-Flexible Growth Medium® (HP-FGM®) hydraulic mulch, the team stabilized steep slopes, controlled seed migration and rapidly established native vegetation. The resulting vegetative cover, lakes, wetlands and native plantings reduced runoff, improved moisture retention and supported long-term water quality, helping the course earn significant environmental and design awards.
