TURFACE® PRO LEAGUE® ELITE NATURAL is an infield conditioner engineered to deliver a consistent, uniform particle mix for skinned infields, creating an ultimate fielding and sliding surface. The calcined, non-swelling illite and silica clay provides outstanding drainage and absorption to help protect against rainouts while maintaining an optimum moisture balance in the infield mix. Widely accepted by Major League groundskeepers, it is designed to increase safety and playability at all levels. The material can be topdressed or incorporated into the infield profile to condition the playing surface and improve moisture management.
- Calcined, non-swelling illite and silica clay with a minimum 60% amorphous silica, processed in a rotary kiln at not less than 1300°F, then screened and de-dusted.
- Total 74% porosity (39% capillary, 35% non-capillary), pH range 5.5 ± 1.0, CEC 33.6 mEq/100g, bulk density 36 ± 2 lb/ft³, reddish/tan color.
- Typical sieve analysis: 0.0% on 5 mesh, 14.3% on 8 mesh, 83.0% on 16 mesh, 2.1% on 20 mesh, 0.3% on 50 mesh, and 0.2% pan.
- Installation options include topdressing at 10 bags (500 lbs) per 1,000 sq ft, or incorporation at 900 lbs per 1,000 sq ft to 2″ depth with a nail drag, or twice that rate to 4″ depth using a rototill.
