Coal-Fired Power Plant ProGanics Case Study

A collage shows a power plant, grassy hills, smokestacks, red soil, a worker spraying material, and a lake, illustrating land transformation and environmental management near an industrial facility.

Located near Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, this coal-fired power plant needed large-scale slope restoration after previous low-cost methods failed. Soil tests identified depleted soils with low organic matter and nutrient levels. ProGanics® Biotic Soil Media® was specified to replace topsoil in targeted areas, while Prescriptive Agronomic Formulations were used where only nutrient boosting was required. ProMatrix® Engineered Fiber Matrix® was applied across the site for slope stabilization. The combination revived depleted soils and established dense vegetation in just 3 weeks.

Key Points

  • Massive power plant site near Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport required restoration after cheaper solutions provided poor results.
  • Soil tests guided use of ProGanics BSM to add organic matter and replace topsoil in depleted areas.
  • Prescriptive Agronomic Formulations boosted soil vitality where the topsoil alternative was not required.
  • ProMatrix Engineered Fiber Matrix stabilized slopes, helping revive depleted soils and establish dense vegetation in just 3 weeks.
